When my wife and I first came to the site to scope it out before I applied for my job.
The back pastures.
I am forever a sheep.
Growing up on farms his whole life, Joe’s passion for agriculture, animals, and wholesome food developed at a young age. Inspired by this passion, Joe decided to pursue an education in Agriculture. He obtained his Associate’s degree in Agriculture Technology and his Bachelor’s degree in Business. When offered the position of livestock manager at the Accokeek Foundation, 23 year old Joe uprooted his life in upstate New York and relocated to Indian Head, Maryland with his wife. His day to day duties include watering and feeding the animals, building and maintaining enclosures, and livestock training. Joe and his wife welcomed their first child in early 2017. He jokes that taking care of the animals is very similar to taking care of his newborn daughter, but says that the animals are slightly more self-sufficient.
