Sitting on the boat dock, watching the boats go by and a bald eagle dips into the river, scoops up his lunch and flies over my head. It was a magical moment.
The trails: I love hiking and spending time on the trails allows me to collect my thoughts and be introspective. We all need times to quiet our minds and just take in the outdoors. That’s what this place does for me!
Chicken: They are quite personable, and in the words of Homer J. Simpson, they are known for their bravery and intelligence!
By combining marketing intelligence, business-savvy, and creative problem-solving, Anjela leads the organizational effectiveness and management in finance, administration, park operations, and communications. She joined the Accokeek Foundation in 2009, and has been an integral part of the leadership team advancing the Foundation’s mission ever since. While starting a family, Anjela studied Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing at the University of Maryland, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2004. When she is not at the farm, she spends her time studying the area’s native flora and fauna, often by dabbling in nature photography, visiting area parks, or hiking through the Shenandoah Mountains–often with her husband and two children in tow.
