Friday, November 4, 2011 – When night descends on the Potomac River, this historic site comes alive with spirits from Maryland’s past. Beginning at 6 pm visitors can enjoy scary stories and songs performed as the sun sets over George Washington’s Mount Vernon across the river. Then venture out with your own ghoulish guide to explore the haunted farm house and be led by lantern light through the fields to the Tobacco Barn and the “Tavern” where you’ll meet criminals and other lost souls from Colonial Maryland.

Tours will be led at 20 minute intervals from 7 to 9 pm starting at the Visitor Center where light refreshments will be available.

Please note that this scary journey is most appropriate for ages 8 and up. Appropriate closed-toe footwear is recommended for walking about the farm and its pathways.
