24th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup

Potomac River Cleanup at Accokeek Foundation host site

Saturday, April 14, 2012–Join the Accokeek Foundation in pitching in and picking up at the 24th Annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup! Volunteer during this year’s cleanup to help remove trash from the shoreline of the Potomac River. This is a great volunteering opportunity for families, service-learning students, as well as Boy/Girl Scout and corporate groups. Trash bags and gloves will be provided; please wear sturdy shoes and clothing appropriate for slippery and wet conditions. All volunteers should check in at the Visitor Center before being directed to a cleanup spot on-site.

Coming in a group of 10 or more? Please let us know! Email Catherine Krikstan or call 301-283-2113 ext 26.

Last year’s cleanup took place at hundreds of sites in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. For more information about additional cleanup sites and the Potomac River Watershed Cleanup, please contact the Alice Ferguson Foundation at 301-292-5665.
