As Land Conservation Coordinator, Ryan plays a significant role in advancing the Accokeek Foundation’s long-term commitment to land conservation and protection of the Mount Vernon viewshed. Ryan is a native of the Washington, DC, region and attended Virginia Tech, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public and Urban affairs and in 2006 with a Master of Science in Urban and Regional Planning. Ryan stewarded conservation easements for the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, a statewide land trust, for several years. Prior to beginning with the Foundation, he completed a year-long AmeriCorps program in northern California focused on watershed planning and management. In his free time, Ryan enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, and most anything outdoors.
