Sitting on the boat dock, watching the boats go by and a bald eagle dips into the river, scoops up his lunch and flies over my head. It was a magical moment.
The trails: I love hiking and spending time on the trails allows me to collect my thoughts and be introspective. We all need times to quiet our minds and just take in the outdoors. That’s what this place does for me!
Chicken: They are quite personable, and in the words of Homer J. Simpson, they are known for their bravery and intelligence!
Anjela joined the Accokeek Foundation in 2009 to coordinate marketing and volunteers. Today, she directs and leads program marketing and donor communications, ensuring a consistent brand image and messaging across all communications channels. Anjela has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Maryland University College, and has over 15 years of experience in graphic design, marketing, and management. By combining marketing intelligence and creative problem-solving Anjela is able to produce the most creative, memorable, and effective communications possible for the Foundation. When she is not at the farm, she spends her time studying the area’s native flora and fauna, often by dabbling in nature photography, visiting area parks, or hiking through the Shenandoah Mountains–often with her family in tow.
