Join the Food Day celebration on the beautiful Potomac River front grounds of Piscataway Park for an afternoon including a community potluck, speakers, a screening of the film “The Greenhorns,” a campout, breakfast, trail walks, and a farm tour at Hard Bargain Farm the next morning!
This mixer is a great networking opportunity amongst the farm and food systems community and will feature opportunities to get to know more about the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training, The Greenhorns, agriculture programs at the Accokeek Foundation and Alice Ferguson Foundation, as well as an address and action opportunities about the upcoming 2012 Farm Bill by the Rural Coalition. The public is invited to stay the night in Piscataway Park. Please bring lawn chairs, camping gear, flashlights (grounds are totally dark at night), potluck dish, hiking boots to check out the site and local trails in the morning. Organizations and farms are welcome to bring their promotional materials, a resource table will be available.
Families are welcome and encouraged to join the festivities!
